About Bull Shoals Lake

Bull Shoals Lake in southern Missouri is a 45,500 acre Corp of Engineers lake that is divided between Missouri and Arkansas. With about 16,000 acres on the Missouri side, Bull Shoals Lake offers a variety of bottom and shoreline structures which makes it an excellent place to fish. The Missouri side of Bull Shoals Lake is deep and clear with bluff, rock, and gravel shorelines. Though there aren't as many tress left standing as in other Missouri lakes, Bull Shoals Lake does have its share.

The Bull Shoals Lake area provides numerous recreational activities which include boating, fishing, water skiing, sailing, camping, scuba diving, hunting, horseback riding, and hiking. Primitive and modern camping facilities are available along with numerous lodging facilities near and around the lake, along with shops, golf course, restaurants, and historical interests. For water sports, there are plenty of boat ramps along the lake along with three marinas located at Pontiac, Theodosia, and Kissee Mills. All of the marinas are full service, and provide nearby campgrounds, lodging, fuel, storage, tackle, store, and boat rentals. Many of the lake side resorts also have boat ramps and marine supplies.

The available fish in Bull Shoals Lake are Black Bass, Crappie, Bluegill, Whitebass, Catfish, and Striped Bass. Many state fishing records have been set at Bull Shoals Lake, included are the Smallmouth Bass, White Bass, Striped Bass, and the still standing Largemouth Bass at 13lb. 14oz.
